Brandon Thomas

A falling tree branch on a job site nudged Sycamore Brandon Thomas toward his professional mission: educating workers – and the world – about workplace safety. Now he's earning his four-year degree in Safety, Health, and Environment at Indiana State University while working full-time as a safety coordinator. Brandon’s goal is to build safety programs that ensure everyone on a job site “gets home the same way they showed up.”

Lea Tice

From U.S. Army electrician to aspiring systems engineer, Lea Tice, '26, transformed her curiosity into an impactful education in Computer and Electrical Engineering Technology. Through hands-on learning, supportive faculty, and real-world projects like an autonomous firefighting robot, Lea discovered where she belongs and launched a career in engineering at Philips, a medical device manufacturer.

Manasi Shahi

Eight thousand miles from her home in Nepal, Manasi Shahi has discovered more than a degree at Indiana State. The junior Supply Chain Management student has also found a community that helped her grow from a homesick first-year Sycamore into a confident leader and mentor for other international students finding their own place on campus.

Abigail Canull-Beauchamp

Indiana State University Fine Art MFA student Abigail Canull-Beauchamp is using vibrant mixed-media artwork, leadership experiences, and a passion for teaching to make a lasting impact on others. Camila Dominguez

From Mexico City to Indiana State, Camila Dominguez has embraced every opportunity to learn and connect with others. The senior Language Studies student has found her community on campus while also pursuing unforgettable international experiences, including studying abroad in South Korea and leading summer camp activities in Italy. Wherever her journey takes her next, she's ready for the challenge.

Lily Randolph

Lily Randolph, '26, chose Indiana State's finance and accounting programs for their strong career prospects and hands-on learning opportunities. Drawn by small class sizes, supportive professors, and experiences like study abroad, the Chatham, Illinois, native built a foundation for success. Now working as a bank accountant, Randolph says her Sycamore experience has paid off.

Sycamores in New York City

Indiana State music and theater students brought their studies to life during a faculty-led trip to New York City, where they experienced Broadway performances, participated in professional workshops, and explored the performing arts industry. Through hands-on learning and behind-the-scenes exposure, the experience helped students gain confidence and envision their futures in the arts.

Elizabeth Gonzalez

Elkhart, IN native Elizabeth Gonzalez, '26, was the first in her family to earn a bachelor's degree. She credits her love of music with giving her the inspiration to begin her Sycamore journey and the determination to finish it despite obstacles along the way. Now, the music education graduate is ready to share with other students that same joy and sense of belonging that music gave to her.

Sadie Herring

Sadie Herring, a recent Scott College of Business graduate, has distinguished herself through academic excellence, leadership, and community impact during her time at Indiana State. A double major in insurance and risk management and marketing and sales, Herring paired classroom success with hands-on experience, campus leadership roles, and community initiatives—earning recognition as a standout student and selection as an undergraduate commencement speaker.
