After nearly 42 years of dedicated service and leadership, Indiana State University announces the retirement of Jeff Jacso, Associate Vice President for Finance and University Controller/Assistant Treasurer, effective October 2, 2026.
A proud Sycamore who earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana State, Jacso is a Certified Public Accountant who has served the University in a variety of roles, including staff accountant, chief accountant and assistant controller. For the past 20 years, he has served as Associate Vice President for Finance and University Controller, providing steady leadership and institutional knowledge through decades of growth and change.
Throughout his career, Jacso has helped shape the financial operations of the University, as well as played an important role in numerous University bond issues and refinancing initiatives totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. He also oversaw the University's Sodexo contract, supporting projects that included the development of the Sycamore Banquet Center, expansion of the Convenience Store, Sycamore Dining and Starbucks. Just as importantly, Jacso has shared his experience and expertise with others, mentoring numerous employees and student employees throughout his career.
His commitment to service extends well beyond campus. Jacso has served as treasurer of Miss Softball America, where he has also coached and provided pitching lessons; as treasurer of the Hungarian Lodge; and in roles with the Indiana CPA Society's nonprofit committee. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Indiana State, he received the University Medallion in 2000.

Just as significant is the impact Jeff has had on the colleagues and students he has mentored throughout his career. We are deeply grateful for everything he has given to his alma mater, and we congratulate him on a truly remarkable career and a well-deserved retirement.”
The Indiana State community is invited to join in celebrating Jeff's remarkable career and wish him well in retirement during a reception on Wednesday, September 30, from 2-4 p.m. in the McKee Family Heritage Lounge.
