Tufting 101

Unlock your creativity with our Rug Tufting for Beginners course, tailored for absolute beginners eager to explore the art of tufting using tufting guns. Tufting is a modern take on the traditional craft of rug-making, where you use a tufting gun to weave yarn through a cut of cloth. Upon arrival students will learn how to operate a tufting gun before creating their 18″x18″ rug, no prior experience is needed. Students will draw or trace a simple/bold design at the start of class (Maximum of 4 colors), or students can choose to have our instructor draw an abstract design. After students have completed tufting their rug, they will apply the glue backing. Students may stay as long as needed to finish their rugs, and/or may leave early when rugs are completed! Glue must dry for 48 hours, the rug must be trimmed, and a felt backing must be applied by our staff during the following week- because of this, an email will be sent to students when rugs are completed and ready for pick up.
