The School of Music at Indiana State University have launched tickets to the 77th annual Yuletide Madrigal Feaste, a re-creation of the Renaissance feasts held in the great baronial halls throughout England during the twelve days of Christmas. The event takes place over three nights in December at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
The evening will consist of two parts. First off, guests will enjoy a lavish dinner which includes traditional wassail, cranberry Christmas salad, roasted pork loin, breaded stuffing, roasted red potatoes, green beans, rolls, and black forest cake. During the dinner, there will be theatrical performances that fuse Renaissance elegance with comedy.
Following the theatrical performance, guests can enjoy classical Christmas music with performances by School of Music ensembles, The Sycamore Singers and Brass Quintet.
“This event is a highlight of Terre Haute’s holiday activities”, says Dr. Scott Buchanan, the University’s Director of Choral Activities. He added, “an evening of music with singers, period costumes, and exquisite food in a historic venue, what more could you ask for to usher in the Christmas season? Everyone involved in this venture takes great pride in producing an unforgettable evening for our guests, and we look forward to sharing the holiday spirit with them.”
Yuletide Madrigal Feast is an Indiana State University School of Music tradition that brings the University and Terre Haute community together to celebrate the holiday season. The event will take place on December 3, 4, and 5, at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church from 7 pm.
