The Theodore Dreiser Visiting Writers Series will feature poet C. S. Carrier on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6:00pm in the Yang Family University Art Gallery. This event is free and open to the public.
C.S. Carrier is the author of the full-length collections, After Dayton & Mantle, as well as several chapbooks, including Ozarks and /anode, a/node, an/ode. His poem, “The Natural State,” won the 2018 Omnidawn Single Poem Broadside Contest and was printed as a limited-run broadside by Littoral Press. Other poems have appeared or are forthcoming in several journals, including South Dakota Review, The Minnesota Review, Midwest Review, Hunger Mountain, Denver Quarterly, and Fence. He earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a PhD in English/Creative Writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He grew up in western North Carolina and resides in Indianapolis, IN where he co-founded and co-coordinates the NIGHTJAR Poetry Series.
