The Accessibility Resource Office (ARO), previously located on the first level of Normal Hall, transitioned to Student Affairs as of July 1st, 2022. ARO provides academic and housing accommodations as well as support services to students with permanent and temporary conditions (including but not limited to ADHD, learning disabilities, psychiatric conditions, chronic medical diagnoses, concussions, visual impairments, and hearing impairments) that impact their access to education and campus life.
These services will still be available, and there should be very little disruption in the operations of the office. This transition comes with new leadership in the ARO; Amanda Hobson will act as the new point of contact for the office. All questions, concerns, or applications for accommodations should be sent to her (amanda.hobson@indstate.edu) or through the general ARO email (isu-dss@indstate.edu). Students can also call the Office of the Dean of Students (812-237-3829) to schedule an appointment to talk to a member of the team.
Testing accommodations for the Summer 2022 semester: for students enrolled in courses during the summer semester, they may still utilize those accommodations. Students requesting to take an exam in the Normal Hall testing facilities may still do so and they are to follow the regular testing policy of emailing isu-dss@indstate.edu and their instructors. Olivia Smith in Normal Hall will be handling these testing accommodations through August.
