Sycamore Stitchers Donate to CODA

The Sycamore Stitchers, an on-campus group of yarn enthusiasts, made up of staff, faculty, and students, recently donated over 100 items to the Council On Domestic Abuse. Among the items were afghans, hats, scarves, children’s sweaters and dresses, and gloves. All items were made and donated by members of Sycamore Stitchers.

Cathy Contri, Administrative Assistant at the Community School of the Arts, and member of Sycamore Stitchers delivered the items at the beginning of October to very grateful recipients. “This is an opportunity for all stitchers to use their community service time, and make a difference in the lives of those in need,” she said.

Next semester the Sycamore Stitchers will be donating to homeless veterans.

Sycamore Stitchers meet every Thursday, 11:00 – 12:00, in Classroom 115 of the Fine Arts Building at 649 Chestnut St. All staff, faculty, and students are welcome. If you don’t know how to knit or crochet, we will teach you!
