Indiana State University is in the process of developing its next strategic plan, “Focusing on our Future Together: A Strategic Plan for Indiana State University, 2021-2025.”
A survey was launched in December for campus members to share their thoughts on strategies or initiatives the University should consider to successfully address the five goals of the overall strategic plan. This data is being collected by Brad Balch. If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Brad Balch by e-mail at brad.balch@indstate.edu or by phone at (812) 237-2802. Thank you in advance for participating in this survey. Responses to the survey will be provided to the Goal Chairs by the end of the day, Friday, January 22.
The following details the five goal statements and lists the President’s Cabinet members who are serving as co-chairs of each goal. Goal statements represent the overarching desired outcomes of the strategic plan. Each committee has representatives selected from nominations made by the Faculty Senate, Staff Council, and the Student Government Association as well as others selected by the Goal Chairs due to their expertise, interest, and/or job responsibilities.
Goal 1: Advance our commitment to equity and inclusive excellence (Co-Chairs: Rana Johnson and Katie Butwin)
Goal 2: Expand student pathways and access to higher education and increase student success/completion (Co-Chairs: Mike Licari and Andy Morgan)
Goal 3: Engage internal and external partners to deepen student learning and address community challenges (Co-Chairs: Nancy Rogers and Sumalayo Jackson)
Goal 4: Advance a culture of philanthropy to sustain financial stability (Co-Chairs: Andrea Angel and Diann McKee)
Goal 5: Enhance institutional reputation and pride (Co-Chairs: Sherard Clinkscales and Greg Goode)

A draft of the new plan will be shared with the governance units, campus at large and the Board of Trustees along with external stakeholder groups with additional opportunities for input into the final plan. The final plan will go to the Board of Trustees for endorsement in May. More information on the development of the new strategic plan can be found here.
