Indiana State University Staff Council is now accepting nominations for staff members interested in serving in available roles. These positions involve a term commitment and include such as attending monthly general council meetings, participating in standing committee meetings, and engaging in other council-related activities. Eligibility Requirements
Eligible persons include all Indiana State non-exempt, non-exempt professional, and exempt Staff who have successfully completed their initial introductory period (90 days) with the exception of:
• Exempt Staff who are members of the President’s Cabinet.
• Exempt Staff who report directly to a member of the President’s Cabinet.
• Exempt Staff who are represented by Faculty Senate; and
• Exempt Staff who are classified as Executives.

Self-nominations: If you would like to serve as a representative on Staff Council, please submit statements about why you are interested and why you are a good candidate. When writing your statement, consider including the following information: your leadership experience and qualities, campus and community involvement, skillset, and/or contributions you would make to the university/council. These statements will be included on the ballot distributed to all ISU Staff.
Nominating others: If you have a Staff colleague who you feel would be a good representative on Staff Council, please submit statements explaining why they would be a good candidate. When writing the statement, consider including the following information: the nominee’s leadership experience and qualities, campus and community involvement, skillset, and/or contributions they would make to the university/council. These statements will be included on the ballot distributed to all ISU Staff. Please note that prior to creating the ballot, all nominated persons will be contacted to confirm that they are interested in the position. The nominee’s supervisor name and email must be identified as well.
Nominations will be accepted until, 12:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026.
