Scantron Policy Update

In an effort to help ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff and reduce the potential of transmission of COVID-19, University Testing is recommending that all faculty use Blackboard administered testing as a contact-less option. University Testing has partnered with Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence to provide some additional training opportunities on the administered testing features in Blackboard. Those times are as follows:

August 4, 2020 Blackboard Training for Faculty 9:00-9:30 a.m.

August 12, 2020 Blackboard Training for Faculty 2:00-2:30 p.m.

August 12, 2020 Using the Blackboard Gradebook 3:00-4:00 p.m.  (This Zoom session will present an overview of the Blackboard Grade Center, including how to create columns, enter or change grades, and create weighted grades in your course. Q&A to follow the live presentation. )

The zoom links can be located on within the Programming and Zoom Links label in the middle of the page.

If these times aren’t convenient for you Molly Hare, Director of Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence is happy to work with faculty on a 1:1 basic. Please contact her to schedule some time that is convenient for you.

While Blackboard administered testing is more convenient and time-efficient option at this time, if you still wish to use Scantrons services provided by University Testing, please note that there will be a 5 business day processing time from the point delivered to the University Testing Office. Specifics about the process of Scranton services can be found on the University Testing website,
If you have any questions about these changes, please do not hesitate to contact University Testing at or (812) 237- 9634.
