Hello Sycamore Faculty and Staff! My name is Bre Pierce and I am the Sycamore Safe Zone Coordinator here at ISU. Sycamore Safe Zone is held under the Office of Multicultural Services and programs. If you have not heard of Sycamore Safe Zone, it is an allyship training for individuals to learn about the LGBTQ+ community through discussions and activities. This training is split up into three levels, which focuses on many different topics like: terminology, homophobia, LGBTQ+ history, coming out, and many other important topics. This semester, during covid-19 restrictions, we are hosting each level multiple times on zoom! These trainings are open to all students, faculty, and staff who want to learn more about being an ally. These trainings are scheduled multiple times through the semester, and we do offer a way to request trainings for your classes and/or groups if desired.
