Paul Bro Quartet to perform Sept. 28, with Scotty Stepp and Paul Bro

The Paul Bro Quartet (PBQ), founded in 2020 by four former students of its namesake at Indiana State University, will perform as part of the ISU Visiting Artist Series at 7:30 p.m. on September 28, 2021, in the Boyce Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts. Special guests Scotty Stepp and Paul Bro also perform selections with the PBQ.

While the founding members each took diverse career paths, their love of music and their devotion to the saxophone and its rich history was ever-present in their lives. So, it was then, and during a global pandemic, that four friends came together to make music once more. While certainly a “passion project” in many ways, the group began with the idea of creating and sharing music with others at every opportunity. Quartet members include Bobby Case, soprano saxophone, Matthew Altizer, alto saxophone, Samuel Fritz, tenor saxophone, and Steven Georges, baritone saxophone.

The recital will feature works by Domenico Scarlatti, Ida Gotkovsky, Antonio Vivaldi, Alessandro Marcello, Philip Glass, and George Briegel.

Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the School of Music at 812-237-2771.
