Hispanic Heritage Month kick off celebration
HLA and Latinx are pleased to announce the Hispanic Heritage Month opening event. This event will include a Colombian born-artist, American photographer and ISU alumna presenter. She will show and discuss her ethno-photographic project. In her talk she will show her series of portraits done at the Wasak Kwewesx School in Colombia’s Cauca State. There Nasa indigenous children are now being educated in the traditional rites of the coca plant as their Inca ancestors practiced centuries ago. HLA and Latinx students will be talking about their Hispanic heritage and what it means to be a Hispanic Sycamore. There will be food, performances and games. This event is open to everyone.
