Sheriff Derek Fell and Captain John Moats of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office present the case of a female victim found stabbed to death in a residence in the late 1990s. At the time of the murder, there were two primary suspects but no arrests were made. Fifteen years later, the case was reopened and examined. What happened next? Attend this presentation to find out!
Sheriff Derek Fell is a lifelong resident of Vigo County and has served with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office since 2002. Sheriff Fell graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in criminology, and he has served in various positions within the Sheriff’s Office including patrol, criminal investigations, cold case detective, and crime scene investigator.
Captain John Moats has served with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years and is currently captain of operations. Previous roles within the Sheriff’s Office include patrol deputy, detective, crime scene investigator, cold case detective, and chief deputy under a previous administration.
