Microsoft groups with no activity for 180 days will be automatically scheduled to expire if not renewed. Owners of an expiring group will receive an email from Microsoft similar to the image below. These emails are not spam and you should click the “renew” button if you want to keep the group active.
Groups are commonly created by using Microsoft Teams and other applications. Sign in to https://outlook.office.com/people and open the menu on the left to Groups>Owner to review the groups you own.
