More Than Just Another Essay: Creative Final Projects in English 239

English courses, whether literature classes or composition courses, tend to be based in writing, which is an important skill for students to master. However, while writing and analyzing literature is a foundational skill that students should be working on when taking an English course, there are also approaches to measuring student learning and meeting the course outcomes that allow students to more freedom and creativity than another essay. In this session, Heather Roberts will share her approach to balancing formal writing assignments with creative projects in her sections of English 239 as well as share some of her past students’ final projects.

This session will be held in the FCTE, located just past the Cup and Chaucer Café in Cunningham Memorial Library.
