Local medical students offer camp to teach kids about medicine

West Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (WCI-AHEC), in collaboration with Indiana University School of Medicine – Terre Haute (IUSM-TH), will be offering local students the opportunity to learn more about healthcare through the annual Dr. Camp (middle school) and Camp M.D. (high school). The one-day camps, for 6th-8th grade students and 9th-12th grade students, are set to take place on July 24th and July 25th from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Held at the Landsbaum Center for Health Education in Terre Haute, the camps are facilitated by medical students from the IUSM-TH regional campus. Both camps offer students hands-on experiences, including participation in medical simulations, a dissection activity, as well as interaction with current medical students.
