ISU’s Residence Hall Association hosts 200 students from Midwest colleges on campus

The Residence Hall Association at Indiana State University hosted the Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (GLACURH) Regional Leadership Conference from October 28-30 on campus. GLACURH is the regional affiliate of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, which represents students living in residence halls across the country and the world. This conference was the first in-person conference for the region since 2019.

Students Megan Stegall and Emma Davis co-chaired the conference with a large student conference staff and advisors from the Office of Residential Life. Stegall also served on the Regional Board of Directors as the representative of the conference staff to the region.

Two hundred students and advisors from 22 institutions across Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana attended the conference this weekend. The theme of the conference was The Search for MOWII: A Classic Leadership Conference, which played off of the 1985 Clue movie. Delegates attended educational sessions where they were able to learn how to better their own institutions and share ideas. Delegates closed out the weekend with an awards ceremony and banquet dinner. The Indiana State University delegation won best roll call for their Among Us-themed video that introduced their staff.

The students also donated items to the Pride Center of Terre Haute and homemade dog toys to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
