Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. was founded on September 19, 1963 by twelve men at Morgan State College (now Morgan State University). They were inspired by several events in the midst of the Civil Rights era to start a unique brotherhood that stood on the principles of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood.
Today, Iota Phi Theta is the 5th largest predominately African-American fraternity with membership making strides to advance our culture through Politics, Civil Rights, Music/Entertainment, and sports.
