Interacting with Distressed Students: Active Listening and De-Escalation

Do you sense distressed students in your classroom? This session focuses on how faculty can effectively engage with students experiencing emotional distress through active listening and supportive communication. You will explore strategies for de‑escalating difficult interactions, setting appropriate boundaries, and responding with empathy while maintaining their role as professor.
