Indiana State University Presents the 2023-2024 Performing Arts Series Season

What does mind blowing magic, tap dancing, Christmas classics and a Chicago tribute all have in common? They are all a part of the exciting Indiana State University Performing Arts Series 2023 – 2024 season! The 2023 – 2024 season promises to bring fun and family friendly entertainment, all sponsored by The Hometown Savings Bank.

We kick off this year’s season with Haunted Illusions on October 10th. You’ll be stunned and amazed as master illusionist David Caserta has people levitating, disappearing, and reappearing right before your eyes. Families will thrill, laugh, and possibly vanish from sight at a magic spectacular like no other. What better way to celebrate Halloween than with an incredible night of magic?

Next up is Chicago Tap Theatre on November 7th. Chicago Tap Theatre is a young and vibrant dance company with a unique mission to preserve the quintessentially American dance form of tap and to take tap to the next level of creativity and innovation.

Come experience your favorite Christmas songs in authentic country style! Merry Country Christmas on December 4th brings the joy of Christmas to you in this delightful production of toe-tapping, heartfelt music of the holidays. From the fun of “Old Saint Nick” to “Oh Come all Ye Faithful,” and “Up on the Housetop” is presented by the finest musicians and singers.

The second half of the season starts with Dallas String Quartet on January 30th. It features a fusion of contemporary classical and pop music, DSQ uses both traditional and electric strings performing as a quartet with the full accompaniment of drums and guitar. Known for their eclectic renditions of anything from Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” to Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita.”

On February 13th Brass Transit: Music of Chicago will take the stage. The band’s show includes all the hits from Chicago’s golden age: 1969-1976. With a world-class horn section, a rocking rhythm section, and vocals stacked sky high, Brass Transit transports its audience back to the freewheeling days of the seventies.

Closing off the 2023-2024 season is B2wins on March 5th. Four decades of the music you know and love with a unique twist! This unforgettable, engaging show is all for ages and features one-of-a-kind renditions of everything from Sinatra, Ed Sheeran, Louis Armstrong, Dua Lipa, and Michael Jackson. Enjoy the top 40 of the last 40 years.

Each of the Performing Arts Series shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. A pre-event will be held before every performance. Our pre-events feature entertainment relating to the theme of the show that evening as well as refreshments. Pre-Events starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Ballroom unless otherwise stated.

Season tickets are now on sale, starting at $56, which adds up to a 50% discount for the whole season. ISU faculty and staff enjoy additional discounts, and all ISU students are admitted for free when presenting a valid student ID. Individual tickets will go on sale in August.
