Important Road Closures & Parking Information on Monday, April 8, for the Eclipse

ROAD CLOSURES
The below road closures on campus will be in place from 7am – 4.30pm on April 8th: 
  • Tippecanoe St from N 5th – N 6th St
  • N 5th St between Tippecanoe St and Chestnut St
  • N 6th St between Tippecanoe St and Spruce St
  • Spruce St between N 5th St and N 6th St
Additional road closures in Terre Haute for other eclipse events: 
  • Wabash Avenue from 6th street to 9th street will be closed on April 7th at 6pm until April 8th at 7pm.
  • 7th Street from Cherry Street to Ohio Street on April 7th at 6pm until April 8th at 7pm.
  • 8th Street from Wabash Avenue to Ohio Street on April 7th at 6pm until April 8th at 7pm.
  • 17th Street from Wabash Avenue to Warren Street on April 8th from 11am to 5:30 pm
Plan your journey in advance and be prepared to take an alternative route. Please see terrehaute.in.gov for any updates to the City’s road closure plans.
PARKING INFORMATION
There are a few changes to parking facilities in the run up to and during the event.
Lot parking:  
  • The North Visitor’s Pay Lot (Lot 11) will be closed from Friday, April 5th at 4pm until Monday, April 8th at 7pm. This will affect vehicular access to the Science Building, Center for Multimedia Services, and delivery to the rear of Cunningham Memorial Library.
  • Lot D extension will be closed from Friday, April 5th at 2pm until Tuesday, April 9th.
Street parking:  
  • N 5th St between Tippecanoe St and Chestnut St will be suspended from Sunday, April 7th at 11:59pm until Tuesday, April 9th. Cars parked here during those hours will be towed at the owner’s expense.
All other parking lots will remain open as usual however please note the following changes to traffic flow: 
Vehicular access to Lot A (Any Decal Parking) from N 6th St will not be possible between 12pm – 5pm on April 8th. Instead, drivers will be able to enter and exit this lot from the entrance on Tippecanoe Street.
Vehicular access to Lot 24 (Student Parking) from N 5th St will not be possible between 12pm – 5pm on April 8th. Instead, drivers will be able to enter and exit this lot from N 4th St.
