“How It Was Made”: When Professors Bring Their Own Writing Into the Classroom

This presentation explores the opportunities and limitations of professors bringing their own writing into the classroom, with a specific focus on the creative writing classroom. Evidence for the benefits and risks of this practice will be drawn from current scholarship in creative writing pedagogy, composition, and secondary teaching, as well as from firsthand classroom experience.
