The Office of Multicultural Services and Programs, Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center, and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society at Indiana State University is thrilled to present the Her Color Shines award ceremony, a celebration dedicated to honoring outstanding women, transgender women, and non-binary individuals of color within our ISU community. This event aims to recognize their remarkable leadership, academic excellence, community service, and other extraordinary achievements.

During this ceremony, we will acknowledge all nominees and winners of the Her Color Shines awards. It promises to be an inspiring evening filled with celebration.
We are also delighted to announce that our keynote speaker for the evening is Kimberly Shine.
Kim Shine is a versatile media professional with more than a decade of experience in television news and radio broadcasting. She is award-winning and accomplished, and passionate about thoughtful, honest & impactful storytelling.
Shine is an on-air host & production manager for HYFIN (hyphen), a media outlet & radio station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She previously worked in television, serving as a reporter, anchor and producer in the news markets of Champaign, Ill., South Bend, Ind. and Milwaukee, Wis.
She’s a proud author of her book, “On the Other Side of Everything”. It explores life’s challenges through introspective and humorous poetry, drawing from her personal journey of growth and independence. She hopes to empower readers to overcome what holds them back, and to take control of their lives.
Originally from Chicago, Shine holds degrees from Grand Valley State University and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring, staying active and spending quality time with family and friends.
