Faculty and staff spring book study – Bandwidth Recovery: Helping students reclaim cognitive resources lost to poverty, racism, and social marginalization

Author Cia Verschelden writes that the cognitive resources for learning have been reduced by the negative impacts of economic insecurity, discrimination and hostility against non-majority groups based on differences such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Verschelden offers strategies to rebuild cognitive resources necessary to succeed in college and reach their full potential.
