Essential details to know for student internships

Here are some key points to keep in mind as you prepare for a Spring semester internship:

Handshake

Students can access Handshake via this link to find internships and employers.

All for-credit internships must be registered in Handshake. Use this guide for step-by-step instructions.

Faculty Supervisor

The faculty supervisor of your internship is the instructor of your internship course. This supervisor can approve of your internship site. Talk to your academic advisor if you are unsure of who your faculty supervisor may be or what internship class you should be enrolled in.

Host Site Agreement

Some internship sites have established a Host Site Agreement that is active for 3 years. Those sites can be found listed here. If a Host Site Agreement is not yet established, your site supervisor will be sent a request to complete this agreement.

Funding

In order to be eligible for the Internship Experience Grant or Internship Scholarship, students must apply in The Branch; be registered for an internship course and have a fully executed Handshake Placement Agreement and Host Site Agreement on file with the Career Center by December 15, 2024!
