The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program offers training for you to use in
the event of a natural disaster or emergency. This nationwide program is taught by professional
responders and includes hands on activities. This unique opportunity will allow you to serve as
a community volunteer or simply use the skills for your own personal safety and preparedness.
Topics to be covered in these classes include:
• Identify and anticipate hazards
• Reduce fire hazards in the home and workplace
• Extinguish small fires (hands on training with use of a fire extinguishers)
• How to assist emergency responders
