College of Technology Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology Chair Announcement

Dr. Alister McLeod has been selected as the Chairperson of the Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology Department (ECET) effective June 1, 2022.

Dr. McLeod joined Indiana State University as an Assistant Professor in the Applied Engineering and Technology Management (AETM) Department in August 2011. Prior to that he has worked at South Carolina State University in the Electronics Engineering Technology department for a year. He earned his Ph.D. from the College of Technology at Purdue University in Industrial Engineering Technology in 2009. His M.S. degree is also from Purdue University in Electronics Engineering Technology, which he received in 2005. He has a B.S. degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Electronics Engineering Technology, which he received in 2003. He is the Vice-President of the Indiana Surface Mount Technology Association, a professional organization concerned with the population of printed-circuit-boards. Dr. McLeod’s research interests surround the adoption of productivity improvement tools and techniques in small to medium size manufacturers. He has several certifications and Machine Learning (ML) and his current research focuses on how ML adoption can be used to improve production systems. Support for Dr. McLeod’s research has entailed the securing of a $9.7 million Siemens PLM Inc. Academic Software Grant and multiple Indiana State University grants.
