Class of 2025 Networks Scholars announced

Six Indiana State University freshmen have been awarded the Networks Scholarship for academic year 2021-2022.

The Networks Financial Institute Scholarship provides first-year students with a $9,000 scholarship per year for four years, a $3,000 professional development account to utilize over four years, and participation in the Networks Professional Development Program.

The recipients:

  • Olivia Alcorn of Shoals, Indiana, and graduate of Shoals High School
  • Cale Hess of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and graduate of Southmont High School
  • Tucker Moeller of Effingham, Illinois, and graduate of Effingham High School
  • Nicholas Murphy of Scottsburg, Indiana, and graduate of Scottsburg High School
  • Catherine Petit of Oak Forest, Illinois, and graduate of Oak Forest High School
  • Nia Pullins of Gary, Indiana, and graduate of Calumet New Tech High School

Networks Financial Institute began in 2003 with generous support from the Lilly Endowment. Recipients of the Networks Scholarship are selected based on high academic performance, involvement in their high school and community, demonstrated leadership potential, and their desire to pursue a career in business and financial services.

Recipients of the Networks Scholarship participate in the Networks Professional Development Program in the Scott College of Business. It is an intensive four-year career and professional development leadership program that develops future leaders in the financial services and business fields by offering opportunities such as corporate mentoring, paid internships, international travel, professional conferences, and career and professional development.

There is a heavy focus on both professional and personal growth through hands-on learning, industry relationships, and personalized coaching through participation in weekly educational seminars. In addition, scholars are involved with student-led planning and execution of projects that impact the program, the university, and community with events like the annual Networks Ethics Conference at Indiana State each spring.

Students who have received other scholarships at Indiana State and are majoring in business are invited to participate in the Networks Professional Development Program. The additional incoming freshmen participants who will comprise the program’s Class of 2025 are:

Andrew Daming of Rockport, Indiana, and graduate of South Spencer High School is a University Honors Scholarship recipient.

Kalene Dean of Cedar Grove, Indiana, and a graduate of Franklin County High School is a University Honors Scholarship recipient.

John Fritch of Martinsville, Indiana, and a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy is a President’s Scholarship recipient.

Grace Longyear of Mascoutah, Illinois, and graduate of Mascoutah High School is a President’s Scholarship recipient.

Margaret Mroch of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and a graduate of Elkhorn Area High School is a University Honors Scholarship recipient.

Megan Thompson of Needham, Indiana, and a graduate of Franklin Community High School is a University Honors Scholarship recipient.

Jillian Turner of Terre Haute, Indiana, and a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School is a Gongaware Scholarship recipient.

Jayson Wagler of Washington, Indiana, and a graduate of Barr-Reeve High School is a Gongaware Scholarship recipient.
