The Garrett Companies invited Scott College of Business students recently to attend their annual corporate meeting held in Nashville, Tennessee. Filled with presentations, networking, strategic planning, and group sessions, students got to experience behind-the-scenes moments involving the operations of The Garrett Companies (TGC) while connecting with CEO and Indiana State University alumnus, Eric Garrett.
As a full-service multifamily development, construction, and investment management company, TGC builds and manages projects while remaining one of the most successful developers in the country. Their award-winning culture, combined with expert forecasting, is why TGC is able to fully integrate mixed-use, retail, office, and restaurant real estate designs throughout the U.S.
Both undergraduate and graduate business students participated thanks to senior instructor Jennifer Mullen, who accompanied the group. Mullen states, “Our students had an incredible opportunity to attend The Garrett Companies annual meeting and not only engage with an amazing alum in CEO Eric Garrett but also had the privilege of meeting the legendary Coach K, Mike Krzyzewski, who delivered an inspiring keynote address. Coach K, renowned for his remarkable tenure as the head coach of the Duke University men’s basketball team, emphasized a road to success that includes teamwork, discipline, and resilience. This experience provided invaluable insights into leadership and innovation in the business world. We are grateful to The Garrett Companies for hosting us and to Coach K for sharing his wisdom.”
