Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month: Q&A with Ashima Sitaula

What does Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month mean to you?

If I have to say it in a sentence, then AAPI Heritage Month for me means taking pride in all our diverse cultures and embracing our identities by knowing that our differences are what makes us all beautiful and unique.

If you could meet an AAPI leader, who would it be and why? What would you ask?

To be honest I would say a different name every day since someone new inspires me every day. Right now, I would say Manjusha P. Kulkarni (Manju). She is a fierce advocate, leader, and change-maker, and shares incredible insights on how we women and the South Asian community can continue to elevate ourselves and make a bigger impact in this world. My question would be, “When was the moment that you felt most passionate and alive being an activist?”
