A week-long institute will be offered from 1-4 p.m. by the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence.
The institute is a great way to build your AI knowledge and understanding, as well as participate in increasing your skill set. This is an excellent way to demonstrate professional development toward teaching in your FAD.
Day 1 – Foundations of Generative AI
• History, general introduction of language & core concepts
• Overview of major genAI platforms
Day 2 – AI Tools for Teaching & Learning
• Prompting basics & tool selection
• Designing AI‑enhanced assignments
Day 3 – AI in Research & Scholarship
• Literature synthesis with AI
• Writing efficiency, support
Day 4 – Ethics, Equity & Policy
• Academic integrity & bias mitigation
• Accessibility, privacy, and developing guidelines
Day 5 – Implementation & Next Steps
• Action planning for course integration
• Peer sharing, assessment strategies, and support resources
Registration is required and will be located on the FCTE Sycamore Root.
