2nd Graduate Student Research Symposium

Join us for the 2nd Graduate Student Research Symposium, an exciting celebration of academic excellence and innovation at Indiana State University. This annual event highlights the groundbreaking work of our graduate students while providing a platform to share ideas, engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, and promote a spirit of scholarly collaboration.

The symposium is divided into two dynamic parts:

PART 1: 3MT® Competition

Date: February 26, 2025
Location: University Hall, Theatre and Atrium
Time: 2 – 4:30 p.m.

The symposium kicks off with the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, where graduate students rise to the challenge of presenting their complex research topics in just three minutes. The goal is to deliver compelling and accessible presentations that capture the essence of their work while engaging a broad audience.

This fast-paced and intellectually stimulating competition fosters excellent communication skills and promotes the ability to distill complex ideas into their core components. The winners of this event will earn the honor of representing Indiana State University’s sycamores at the regional 3MT® competition in April 2025, showcasing their research on a larger stage.

PART 2: Poster Presentation Expo

Date: April 16, 2025
Location: Cunningham Memorial Library, Event’s Area
Time: 2 – 6:00 pm

The symposium culminates in the Poster Presentation Expo, a vibrant gathering where graduate students showcase their research projects through visually engaging poster displays. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of topics, engage in one-on-one discussions with presenters, and gain insight into the innovative work being conducted across various disciplines.

This two-part event is not only a platform for academic exchange but also an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, creativity, and dedication of Indiana State University’s graduate students. Whether you are a participant or an attendee, the symposium promises to inspire, inform, and foster a deeper appreciation for the power of research and innovation.

We invite all students, faculty, staff, and community members to join us in supporting our talented graduate scholars. Save the dates and be part of this enriching experience!
