2024 Charlotte Zietlow Endowment for Women Faculty Research Grant Application Available

The 2024 Charlotte Zietlow Endowment for Women Faculty Research Grant Application is now available. Submissions are due April 5, 2024.

The selection committee will consider applications from pre-tenure women faculty who have completed their first-year review successfully.

Grant Considerations:
1. Award amounts depend on available funding and the applicant pool. Prior awards have ranged from $500 – $2,000. The award is a stipend that is disbursed directly to the awardee in the form of a check, usually part of payroll. The awards are slated to be dispersed in July.

2. Eligibility: all women faculty on tenure-track appointment at ISU. Funds cannot be used for the completion of the terminal degree required for the tenure-track position.

3. Previous applicants and awardees are welcome to reapply.

4. Applicants who are awarded funding are required to submit a brief report on the use of funds by the end of the annual year in which the award was made. Awardees submitting subsequent applications must have the follow-up report on file to be considered for further funding.

5. Only complete applications will be considered. The application includes your department chairperson’s support.

Primary consideration is given to the quality of the application narrative and the strength of the project described. The narrative should include a research plan, immediate and future goals for the project, the potential contribution of the project to scholarship in the faculty member’s discipline, and its importance to one’s tenure decision. The applicant’s Department Chairperson will need to complete a survey of support.
