OLLI Wednesday Presentation: The Untold Story of the Indiana Air National Guard

Wednesday, September 11 • 1:30 p.m. • FREE

Cunningham Memorial Library, Event Center

Join Maj Gen Kip Clark (ret.) of the Indiana Air National Guard (ANG) as he tells the story of the important role the Indiana ANG played on 9/11. Before Maj Gen Clark served as Commander of Hulman Field’s 181st Intelligence Wing, he served on Hulman Field’s 113th Fighter Squadron on September 11, 2001. The Terre Haute ANG base was one of the only bases in the midwest with live weapons, and because of this the 113th played a unique role on 9/11. Maj Gen Clark will tell little-known stories of how the brave men and women stationed at Hulman Field helped keep the country safe on 9/11.

Maj Gen Kip Clark completed pilot training in 1992 and began flying the F-16C. Gen Clark has multiple combat deployments for Operations Northern Watch and Iraqi Freedom and deployed as the 113th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron commander in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. He was also a Distributed Ground Station Mission Operations commander supporting OIF and Operation Enduring Freedom combat missions. At the time of his retirement, Gen Clark served as the senior ANG assistant to Air Force Special Operations Command, providing insight and advice on the planning and integration for the command’s ANG personal.
