The 4th annual EARTHlings’ Earth Day Climate March will be held on Wednesday, April 17. The entire ISU and Terre Haute community is invited to join this Earth Day celebration that acknowledges the preciousness and vulnerability of our home planet while demonstrating a commitment to the preservation of life and the natural systems that allow it to flourish. At 4:00, people will start gathering for the march at the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute (One Library Square, Terre Haute, IN 47807). Parking is available there at the library and on surrounding streets. At 4:30, we will begin walking through town to the Vigo County Court House, on the west side of 3rd Street. Then, at 5:00, in City Plaza, between the City Hall and Court House, a few middle school, high school, and ISU students will speak briefly about the climate crisis, followed by a representative of the City Council and Terre Haute Sustainability Commission. Mayor Brandon Sakbun will then issue an official proclamation to conclude the celebration. All are welcome to join this exciting and positive community event.
