WZIS-FM hosts Toys for Tots Drive

On Wednesday, October 18, WZIS-FM is hosting a Toys for Tots Drive at Indiana State University.

The drive will be held at the fountain on campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will be looking for new, unused, and unopened toy donations and monetary donations. You will be able to give monetary donations in person and online through a QR code the students will have available at the drive.

“My favorite part about doing Toys for Tots is the chance to give unfortunate kids the chance to have a good Christmas,” said Gavin Cook, program director for WZIS.

Hosting a Toys for Tots drive has become an annual tradition for WZIS, with this year being at least the eighth year in a row of hosting it on ISU’s campus. During the drive, there will be music playing, snacks, and games (weather permitting). There will also be opportunities to win prizes.

“My favorite part is being able to get ISU students involved in the Terre Haute community,” said Hannah Frederick, WZIS station manager.

The Toys for Tots mission is to provide toys, books, and other gifts to children in need at Christmastime and beyond to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to children in need throughout the year.
